Marry a foreigner in India under the Foreigner Marriage Act, 1969

You can marry a foreigner in India only under the Foreigner Marriage Act, 1969 & neither under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 nor The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 which applies to only the Indian citizens.

All marriages solemnized under the Act are registered marriages before the Marriage officer/registrar where the Indian Spouse usually resides, on the fulfillment of various conditions such age, matrimonial status, mental status, relationship between the parties etc. A months notice for such marriage is issued after you file application for such an intended marriage, a copy of which is affixed outside the marriage office & a second is sent to the country where the other party resides.

Indian can marry any foreigner only under the Foreign Marriage Act, 1969 where the bride-groom has to be at least 21years old.
